First official crossing of the eastern and western Slovak state border by running/walking combination on:

Funding:

We considered the entry fee as the payment for fuel, travel expenses, meals, and medical supplies from the financial resources of the Devínska Nová Ves municipality - Bratislava, prescription running glasses from BELION optics, basic sports footwear and apparel from Športka a.s. - PUMA Slovakia a.s., STEIN energy drinks from STEIN brewery a.s., and personal financial resources. Food included packet soups, fruits, fluids, sweets, etc.


Accommodation, camping:

During the journey, in forest trails, 2 tents and in the car.

Food and hydration: baby food, dissolved grape sugar in water, grape beverages, mineral water. Minimum of 3.5 liters of fluids per day.


Departure from Bratislava:

By motor vehicle on 26.04.2004 from Bratislava in front of the Main Station after 1:00 PM. Bicycle transportation by train with one of our escorts. Meeting with representatives of STELLA CENTRA during the journey to Vyšný Nemecký.

Unexpected car breakdown in Rimavská Sobota, arrival at the train station in Michalovce at 2:00 AM, picking up a colleague with bicycles. We cycled with the second colleague for an additional 38 km to the starting point in Vyšný Nemecký. Arrival was at 3:30 AM, which means 4 hours of sleep before the start.


Evaluation:

At the border crossing in Záhorská Ves (finish line), family, the mayor of the village, JUDr. Boris Šimkovič, journalists, sponsors, and representatives of the Devínska Nová Ves municipality, Ing. Baňas, were waiting. The mayor welcomed such a sports event in the future. They also prepared refreshments for all participants.

The final parameters were recorded throughout the route (time/km). The start and finish were digitally marked and confirmed with precise timing. The media was informed about the course and results of the event. The racer and participants took part at their own risk.


The organizer reserves the right to make changes. No one experienced any ongoing health issues during the event.
